The SRS was held at Jumping Run Farms in Louisburg, NC on March 24, 2007. Club members Betty, Mac and McAllister Jones set up and manned the HRC booth on behalf of Region 3. From their report approximately 100 people stopped by for information and asked how to join local clubs. Many people were not familiar with UKC and the Retriever Magazines they gave out were a big hit. They had about 15 people to come and run the Puppy Stakes and the Speed Dog event was done by the SRS staff using a radar gun for accuracy with 12 people running that event. Region 3 gives kudos for their support and help.

Message from outgoing ECHRC president - Charlie Whitehurst
Our spring test on May 19 & 20 will be a hunt test that I will remember for the rest of my life. Yes, it was warm, and yes, we had a great hunt test, etc. ... but I proposed marriage to the woman of my dreams at the awards ceremony and tailgate dinner on Saturday evening and Gloria, my soul-mate, said "yes". It was the happiest moment of my life. I was extremely glad to be able to share it with my HRC family in the last test as my term as President of the ECHRC comes to an end. I have been the club's president for the last two years and vice president two years prior to that and I am going to step back and let someone else run the show for a while. I do not plan to go away and I wll continue to judge HRC hunt tests and run my dogs. I want to thank everyone who helped plan and put on our spring test as well as thank all the handlers who came to run dogs and share in the magical moment when the love of my life decided to become my wife.

Below are a few pictures that highlight our test ... click on thumbnail to enlarge picture

I apologize to those who ran on Saturday ... I was busy running my girls and didn't get a chance to take pictures until the tailgate (Gail)!

We had quite a celebration for those who earned titles ...
we were especially proud that Taylor Abernathy earned her Started title with us.
