           Yahoo has been my "first" dog in a number of ways.  I had never owned a Labrador, never been hunting, never handled a gun, and never heard of HRC.  Yahoo and I began our journey together.  We trained with lots of help from our local HRC club and special people like Blake Frazier, Ron Green and Jim Ellett.  I ran my first Started test, my first Seasoned test and my first Finished test with Yahoo.  I was so nervous that I thought about quitting each time.  Yahoo had so much fun and I found myself encouraged each time by him and all the people in HRC.  Some days we did well and other days not so well but every time was always so exhilarating.  The judges at each level may not have known how fabulous they were; Larry, Davis, Lynn Quadhamer, Rich Carpenter, and Don Ley each impacted my involvement in HRC at key points in the journey and many thanks to them for making a huge difference.

          Yahoo is a tremendous hunting dog and he continues his fearless & tireless pursuit of anything I ask of him.  He was the best dog I could have asked for to start my HRC journey, as he was so capable of overcoming all of my mistakes.  The day he earned his 500th point was just another day at the "office" for him; for me, it was a dream come true!  I am so proud to sit next to him on the bucket.
