Who can participate in HRC events?

Membership in HRC is open to all persons regardless of age, race, religion, creed or national origin. The HRC is a family-oriented organization offering outdoor fun and fellowship to its participants. Participation by women and children is strongly encouraged and a wholesome atmosphere is maintained at all times. While most HRC members own retrieving breeds, participation in events is open to other versatile hunting dog breeds that can do the work.

How do I start a New HRC Club?

Starting a new HRC Club is easy to accomplish.  Simply contact the Field Representative closest to your area or the HRC Administrative Secretary, Claudene Christopher.  You will be mailed a New Club Package that includes all of the information and documents necessary.

I have a problem with my UKC Points slip

Any issues with point slips, licenses, or hunt dates should be directed to the United Kennel Club directly (269)343-9020.  This HRC Web site is not maintained by the UKC but volunteers of HRC.  Contact the UKC at www.ukcdogs.com.

I've found a mistake or change needed to the HRC web-site - www.HuntingRetrieverClub.org

Occasionally we have been known to make a mistake, or not have the most current information.  If there has been a change to a local clubs president or other officers, Grand hunt results or championship listing contact the Administrative Secretary at AdminSecretary@H-R-C.org

Does my dog have to be UKC registered  to participate in HRC events?

No - however, in order to receive U.K.C. Championship points recognition and titles, dogs must be permanently registered with U.K.C., Inc. Non-U.K.C. registered dogs may be entered in any of the following categories: Started, Seasoned, Finished or Upland Hunter. If the dog is not U.K.C. Registered when entering and passing a Licensed Hunt Test, the owner has 60 days to get the dog U.K.C. registered. If the dog is not U.K.C. registered in 60 days, the points associated with the category the dog passed will be lost.   Also, All non-U.K.C. registered dogs participating will be charged an additional $3.00 fee above the entry fee of the event.

How do I register my dog with UKC?

Click HERE to go to the UKC Registration Application forms location on the UKC Web-site.  Look for "Application for a Single Registration".

I have a question/complaint about judging at a HRC hunt test?

The web-site contains information about all aspects of our hunting test.  However, disputes about judging should be handled at the hunt site with the local hunt committee and through the appeal process defined in the HRC rule book.  Should you want an "opinion", we suggest you go to our Judges Corner and look for reference material there or a list of contacts.
